The race is on for clubs to get their business done before the first of two summer transfer windows closes next week. Arsenal are now finalising a deal for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and reportedly advancing in negotiations for Benjamin Sesko. They are also keen on both Morgan Rogers and Rodrygo, with Nico Williams, Leroy Sane and Igor Paixao also on Mikel Arteta’s shortlist. Viktor Gyokeres is also keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Manchester United have tabled a second bid for Bryan Mbeumo after their opening offer was rejected by Brentford earlier this week. Chelsea have had an approach for Mohammed Kudus rebuffed by West Ham as they also seek to sign Jamie Gittens and Mike Maignan as well as pursue another new striker to pair with Liam Delap in Hugo Ekitike.

Liverpool have made a new club-record approach for Florian Wirtz and are closing in on Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez as they aim to sign Armin Pecsi, while Manchester City look set to welcome all of Rayan Ait-Nouri, Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki, with Tottenham needing to pay £10m to hire Thomas Frank as Ange Postecoglou’s replacement. Barcelona reject £59m Chelsea bid

Chelsea aren't having much luck at the moment are they?

After sealing a deal for Liam Delap on Wednesday, the Blues are focusing their attentions on bolstering their attack even further.

However, an approach for Mohammed Kudus was knocked back by West Ham and now reports in Spain claim an offer for Barcelona playmaker Fermin Lopez has been rejected.

Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo report that the Blues saw a £59million bid for the Spain midfielder turned down and then tried to tempt the LaLiga champions by including Christopher Nkunku as part of a swap deal.

However, that too was rejected.

Newcastle eye Elanga

Newcastle are keen on signing Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga, Sky Sports say.

Eddie Howe is a long-term admirer of the 23-year-old and made a late move for him last summer.

Whilst a deal did not materialise at the time, he remains one of four top winger targets for Newcastle.

The issue is Elanga still has three years left on his Forest contract and the club will be under no pressure to sell, unless, perhaps, a massive offer comes in.

Fenerbahce request Sancho transfer

It looks like Turkey could be an escape route for Jadon Sancho.

Sancho's future is in limbo after Chelsea decided against signing him on permanent basis - even paying a £5m penalty - following a mixed loan spell last season.

With the winger not part of Ruben Amorim's plans at Manchester United either, Turkish giants Fenerbahce are reportedly willing to sign him.

Milliyet claim that talks underway after Fenerbahce requested him during negotiations as president Ali Koc wants to reach the Champions League through the qualifying rounds by signing some players.

Kerkez announcement

Could this be significant?

Hungary have announced that Milos Kerkez has left the squad for "private reasons" and will not be available for selection for Tuesday's friendly against Azerbaijan.

A post on X reads: "Kerkez has left the men's A-team training camp in Telk for private reasons, so he will not travel with the team to Baku, the venue of the match against Azerbaijan."

Of course, the left-back has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool and this development may see supporters start to speculate that a deal is close.

Chiesa open to Liverpool stay

Federico Chiesa says he would be happy to stay at Liverpool despite a frustrating first season.

The Italian arrived on Merseyside last summer but found first-team opportunities limited - mainly due to the stunning form of Mohamed Salah last season.

Having made just six Premier League appearances throughout the campaign, Chiesa has been tipped for a return to Serie A.

However, the forward insists he has no regrets over his decision to join Liverpool and is in no rush to leave.

In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, he said: “The year is over. But it’s an experience I would do again.

Soon I will sit down at the table with the club, (my agent) Fali (Ramadani) and my family to find the best solution.

“I wouldn’t mind staying in Liverpool at all.”
