The first of two summer windows opens in just two days' time and the Premier League's biggest clubs are already in full wheeling-and-dealing mode. Chelsea have beaten stiff competition to sign Liam Delap for £30million, and remain interested in £84m-rated Hugo Ekitike amid links with key Arsenal target Viktor Gyokeres.

The Gunners, though, could have backed out of the race for the Sporting star, who will cost £60m, as they look to prioritise a deal for Benjamin Sesko, who will cost £67.5m. Arsenal are ready to book a medical for Martin Zubimendi after fully triggering the midfielder's £51m release clause. Leroy Sane is also an option on a free transfer, though the Bayern forward's agent has also offered him to Tottenham.

Manchester United have all but wrapped up a £62.5m signing of Matheus Cunha, but could yet lose captain Bruno Fernandes as the cash-strapped club look to raise funds for a significant squad rebuild. Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have bid £80m but want an answer today. Liverpool remain confident of wrapping up a staggering £126m move for Florian Wirtz despite late interest from Real Madrid, and could annouce Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s exit today. Los Blancos eye Lewis-Skelly

Real Madrid are interested in Arsenal starlet Myles Lewis-Skelly, according to The Guardian.

Lewis-Skelly was the breakout star of the Gunners’ season, cracking the first team and featuring throughout both their domestic and European campaigns.

But reports claim his contract extension talks with the club have stalled. The 18-year-old’s deal expires at the end of next season, and Real are said to be weighing up a move.

Los Blancos confirmed the signing of another British full-back in Trent Alexander-Arnold today.

For Lewis-Skelly, the deciding factor is said to be his position. He played as a midfielder through his academy days, but played as a full-back throughout this campaign.

Liverpool confirm Frimpong signing

Liverpool have wasted no time in replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold, today confirming the signing of Dutch full-back Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.

The deal, reportedly worth around £30million, was completed today, mere hours after the announcement that Alexander-Arnold would join Real Madrid ahead of the Club World Cup.

Frimpong won the Bundesliga with Leverkusen in 2023-24, playing under the tutelage of Liverpool legend Xabi Alonso.

Speaking after signing, he said it was an easy decision to join Liverpool, the newly-crowned Premier League champions.

“For me, it was a no-brainer,” he said.

Amorim predicts Fernandes will stay at United

Ruben Amorim has made his feelings towards Bruno Fernandes clear, saying the forward needs to stay in Manchester.

The Portuguese is reportedly weighing up an £80million move to Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

United beat Hong Kong 3-1 in a post-season friendly this afternoon, and Amorim said after the match that it would not be Fernandes’ last United match.

“I don’t know for sure, nobody knows, but I don’t think so,” he said.

“I think he’s seeing us taking some actions to change all the things and I think it’s all that he asks.

“I think he wants to stay, he’s saying no to a lot of things. It shows that he wants to win. I think he’s really young, he’s really good. He needs to be in the best league in the world.”

Liverpool enter race for Ekitike

Liverpool are the latest Premier League club to court Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, according to Sky Germany.

Chelsea and Arsenal are also keen on Ekitike, and Frankfurt will demand €100 million for his services.

Ekitike, a two-time Ligue 1 champion with Paris Saint-Germain, played 48 times for Frankfurt this season, scoring 22 goals and assisting a further 12. Frankfurt finished third in the Bundesliga.

Man City put McAtee up for sale

Manchester City are expected to listen to offers for James McAtee this summer.

The young midfielder has been allowed to join England’s Under-21s squad for the summer Euros, and Manchester Evening News report that signals a likely end to his time with City.

Guardiola has been clear in his believe that his squad must be together for the Club World Cup, and MEN report that McAtee’s sanctioned exit underlines the player’s lowly squad status.

City have previously rejected bids worth up to £30million for McAtee, but are not expected to be open to a sale.

Tottenham are among a host of clubs who have shown interest.

Frank issues transfer warning over Mbeumo

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has warned clubs wanting to sign Bryan Mbeumo that a summer transfer will not come cheap.

"It is clear that if he is to be sold, it must be for a nice, nice amount," Frank said of Mbeumo to Viaplay. "It is a lot. Mucho. Really a lot.

"Then it is clear that it is impossible to replace him one for one. It cannot be done. There is a reason why he costs x number of million pounds, and we do not have x number of million pounds to buy for.

"I would say that I would be surprised if a lot of big clubs don’t look at him. I would be surprised with what he has to offer.

“How many wingers score 20 goals for a mid-table club? And then with seven assists plus his work ethic. And his character. All these things mean that he has a lot, so he is a good player."

West Brom begin talks to appoint Mason

West Brom are now in talks with Ryan Mason over making the Tottenham assistant coach their new manager.

The Baggies are on the hunt for a new boss after sacking Tony Mowbray last month when the club’s play-off hopes ended.

Mason, who is one of Ange Postecoglou’s assistants at Spurs, has been courted by clubs before trying to tempt him into his first managerial job.

Back in October, Anderlecht held talks with the 33-year-old, but he ended up staying at Tottenham.

Anderlecht and Mason mutually decided back then that it was not the right time for him to move to the Belgian giants.

BBC Sport report that it is now expected that the former midfielder will make his first move into management.
