Brentford pushing for £63m Bryan Mbeumo fee
Brentford remain hopeful of securing a fee in the region of £63million for Bryan Mbeumo in an attempt to eclipse what Manchester United paid for Matheus Cunha, writes Sam Tabuteau.
As Standard Sport reported earlier this week, United will pay an up-front fee of £55m for Mbeumo. However, the two clubs remain locked in negotiations over the size and achievability of the add-ons included in the deal.
Talks have taken place this week over the nature of those add-ons, with Brentford wanting more than £7m in order to take them past the fee Wolves will receive for Brazilian forward Cunha.

Norgaard to Arsenal deal explained
Arsenal are set to complete a move for Brentford captain Christian Norgaard as they look to add experience to their squad ahead of another season in which they'll expect to challenge for silverware at home and abroad.
Norgaard, who signed a two-year contract at Brentford in March, is set to join Arsenal in a deal worth around £9.3m plus add-ons as they take advantage of the uncertainty at Brentford caused by Thomas Frank's departure to Tottenham.
Arsenal's move for Norgaard constitutes smart business for the Gunners, who need to replace the experience and leadership provided by Jorginho, now of Flamengo, and the likely departure of Thomas Partey, whose contract expires next week.

Newcastle launch triple bid
Talk about a statement of intent, Newcastle United have made bids for three Premier League stars.
The players in question, as reported by the Telegraph are Brighton forward Joao Pedro, Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford and Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga.
Having already seen a bid rejected for the latter earlier in the week, the Magpies may have to hit Forest’s £60m valuation to tempt them into selling.

Myles Lewis-Skelly says he wants to build a legacy with Arsenal after signing a new five-year contract with the club.

Such progress reportedly attracted interest from the likes of Real Madrid, but the teenager says extending his stay in north London is a “dream come true”.
Lewis-Skelly will now aim to further impress next season as Mikel Arteta looks to end the club’s five-year trophy drought.

Kerkez on Liverpool transfer
Milos Kerkez has delivered his first interview as a Liverpool player, detailing his motivation behind joining the reigning champions of England.
He said: "I'm really happy. It's a real honour for me, a privilege to come to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, [the] biggest club in England. I'm just really, really happy and excited.
"After this, I'll go home and in my hometown enjoy a few days, and then I can't really wait to come back and put the training kit on and start to train and prepare for the season."
"I just want to thank everyone for really showing me big love, even before it will be announced now.
"And keep supporting the team like you support always, because you're the biggest fan base in the world.
"I'm going to give everything – absolutely everything – to win trophies with the club and to hopefully score some goals at Anfield. I can't wait to hear the roar. And see you soon."

Villarreal boss makes Barry admission
Villarreal manager Marcelino is worried Thierno Barry could leave the club this summer amid links with Everton.
He said: "We're always concerned about the departure of important players, like we were talking about Alex (Baena) earlier.
"I don't know how Barry's situation is, if his departure is close; the last information I had wasn’t sure if it could happen. But anyway, if that happens, just like with Alex, we’ll have to find a solution.”
