PSG vs Inter Milan LIVE
For the first time in their history, Paris Saint-Germain have won the Champions League after a dominant win over Inter Milan. In one of the most one-sided Champions League finals in recent memory, PSG were on top from start to finish as all of their big stars turned up for the showpiece occasion to clinch an historic win for the club.
Not only have the Ligue 1 side been crowned champions of Europe for the first time ever, victory at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany means they have completed a treble after winning a domestic double.
As for Inter, it is back-to-back Champions League final defeats, though this performance was a shadow of the one they turned in against Manchester City just a couple of seasons ago. PSG made the stronger start and were rewarded with the opening goal inside 12 minutes. Inter were caught out at the back, Desire Doue showed great composure to roll the ball across the face of goal, handing Achraf Hakimi a simple tap-in. A dream start for the French side, though out of respect for his former club, the right-back opted against an over the top celebration.

Where do PSG go from here?
Owen Hargreaves said few players could improve Paris Saint-Germain’s squad after they routed Inter Milan in the Champions League final.
PSG were relentless on Saturday night, opening the scoring through Achraf Hakimi after just 12 minutes before romping to five, the largest-ever winning margin in a Champions League final.
It was a devastating showing from the French side’s new-look core, who, being one of the youngest squads in the competition, are expected to set the standard in Europe for years to come. That is down to a new recruitment strategy, which targets bright young talents as opposed to superstars such as Lionel Messi and Neymar.
The question remains, though, how can they strengthen ahead of their title defence? For Hargreaves, it will be very difficult.
PSG youngsters ooze maturity in Champions League final
Paris Saint-Germain matured, moved away from the superstars, and so the stars aligned for them.
Producing the biggest margin of victory in the 70-year history of the European Cup final, Luis Enrique’s sensational side obliterated Inter Milan 5-0 here in Munich’s Allianz Arena.
The Champions League trophy is finally PSG's — seen as the pinnacle of their ambition when the club was purchased by Qatar Sports Investments in 2011.
They have had to learn the hard way, realising that littering the team with the individual brilliance of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar was no guarantee of European success.
Mbappe congratulates former teammates
Former Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe has offered his congratulations to his old teammates after they finally clinched a first Champions League title on Saturday.
He won 15 domestic honours including six Ligue 1 titles in his spell at the Parc des Princes, but European glory consistently eluded him. He reached the Champions League final in 2020, only to be beaten 1-0 by Bayern Munich.
But there was no resentment from Mbappe, who took to Instagram to congratulate his former teammates, writing: "The big day has finally arrived. Victory and in the club’s style. Congratulations PSG."

Vitinha reacts: Win 'not by magic'
While he isn’t a glamorous goalscorer, Vitinha has been the figurehead of this PSG side, driving them to their Champions League title.
Speaking after the tie, he said: “It means everything, everything to the fans. I think they are the main reason that we wanted to win this trophy, but we wanted to win for a lot of reasons. Its our dream, its everyone's dream, its my dream, its incredible.
“It says a lot [that this young squad won], like you said, the group of players is a very good team. This result is not by magic. We are a great team, and we are very happy we did it like this, and now we are going to celebrate.”
