ITV announce huge shake up - with Good Morning Britain extended and Lorraine cut down

It’s all change for ITV daytime next year, as Good Morning Britain is set to be extended - while Lorraine will be cut down.
The broadcaster announced that from January 2026 Good Morning Britain will be extended by half an hour, while Lorraine Kelly’s morning talk show will be reduced to 30 minutes, only running for 30 weeks of the year.
It comes after the Daily Mail reported there was an all-staff meeting for those who work for ITV Studios Daytime at 2pm today.
Known colloquially as GMB, the news show Good Morning Britain first aired in April 2014, and has had a string of anchors such as Piers Morgan, Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard.

“This change will see ITV bring all its national news gathering into one hub, with Good Morning Britain benefitting from the journalistic and production resources already in place for national news bulletins, for the website and for digital platforms including ITVX.”
Lorraine will now only run for 30 weeks of the year, and will air from 9.30am-10am when it’s on.
And when Lorraine is not on air, Good Morning Britain will run from 6am to 10am.
Lorraine Kelly, 65, recently had keyhole surgery to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes after a number of tests and scans.
The Glasgow-born star, who last year celebrated 40 years in television, said she had not “been feeling all that well for a little while”, which prompted her to seek medical attention.
She previously assured her Instagram followers that she was going to be “totally fine” and would see them “really soon”.

Last week, the star posted a photograph of her and her granddaughter Billie together while resting in bed.
She wrote: “Thanks so much for all your well wishes. Billie (is) providing the best medicine ever with lots of cuddles for her granny.
“Hopefully get back to work on Monday. I’ve missed you.”
The host underwent surgery at Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot, Berkshire, later travelling back home to recover.

Previously speaking about the surgery, Lorraine told fans the procedure was done for “purely preventative” reasons.
“Just wanted to let you know I'm having a wee procedure today. I've not been feeling all that well for a little while, so I had some scans and tests, and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out,” she said.
“It's purely preventative. It's going to be with keyhole surgery, which is incredible. I'm being very well looked after, and I'll obviously see you really soon, and I'm gonna be totally fine.”
